Quinta Real Acapulco lies on the famed “Punta Diamante" (Diamond Point) stretching out between the Pacific Ocean and the Bay of Puerto Marques. It is convenient to the airport and just a few minutes away from Acapulco Bay to the west. This area enjoys great beach weather year round. Quinta Real is an upscale, “boutique hotel” with a complete and luxurious infrastructure, 74 suites on five levels for guests, and a corporate commitment to service and quality. The architecture is simple and modern, in a tropical style, and the installations are a showplace for Mexican arts and artisanship. The layout of the hotel is simple. It lies on a hillside, with the reception area at the top, and with the suites and other features cascading downwards towards the beach below. The neighbors on the cliff side are all million-dollar private residences. From the street, one goes down past the lobby bar, then the restaurant, the spa and fitness room, then down past the three pools to the palapa-roofed beach cabañas. The sunsets are beautiful and can be witnessed from the suites and from almost every other vantage point on the property.
Lobby. The entrance to the property is through two large gates, watched over by security personnel. The open air lobby and reception of Quinta Real is regal, as its name implies, with hand-painted, carved wood furniture and a vaulted, 60-foot ceiling lined with palms.
Hotel Information
Quinta Real Acapulco provides guests with the ultimate in services and luxuries. Amenities include shops (tobacco, gifts, snacks, sundries, souvenirs, jewelry), a business center, a supervised children’s program nanny services, safe deposit boxes, valet parking, airport shuttle, medical assistance on call 24/7, guest laundry and dry cleaning. Free wireless Internet connections are in the lobby, restaurant and lobby bar. A computer and desk is available in the lobby for guest use.
The Quinta Real has 74 guest suites on five levels between the lobby and reception area at the top and the pools and beach at sea level below. All suites have balconies with ocean views, marble floors and leather chairs. The décor is simple, elegant and refreshing. Colors are white, cream and sand with ocean motifs. There are 29 Master suites, 38 Gran Class Suites (each with its own Jacuzzi and separate shower), and 7 larger suites with a separate living and dining area. All rooms have both air conditioning and a ceiling fans. The high ceilings and the ocean breeze help to keep the rooms agreeably cool. Amenities include mini-bars, hair dryers, direct dial telephones with voice mail, coffee maker, bottled water, and satellite TV are all included. Rollaway beds and cribs are available.
The Quinta Real has two restaurants: one a fine dining experience featuring Mexican and international cuisine, and the other a poolside restaurant specializing in fresh seafood.
The Restaurant Gourmet combines local and international tastes to create dishes unique to this restaurant. For example, the “concha con mariscos” has shrimp, calamari and clams in a chipotle-hollandaise sauce, and the lobster salad includes apples in a cream dressing. The menu includes several fine dining standards with a continental flare. From the restaurant guests have an unbroken view of the Pacific all the way to the horizon. The restaurant is also open for breakfast. (Daily 7 am-12 pm; 6 pm-12 am.)
The Club de Playa is proud to serve the freshest seafood around. A recommended dish is the ceviche, very traditional in Acapulco, or the sea bass fillet. The Club de Playa is between the pool and the beach, and serves drinks as well. (Daily, 12 pm-6 pm for lunch). The hotel also operates a full room service kitchen and menu on a 24-hour basis, so that guests can dine in private in their own suites, or enjoy breakfast in bed. The Lobby Bar is finished in leather, and lit by candles, for a more formal context for drinks. Live music is provided on weekends. It, too, has a commanding view of the cliffs and the beach, whether from the glass enclosed inside, or the open air terrace.
The beach in front of the Quinta Real is usually calm enough for safe swimming. Surfing is often possible farther down Revolcadero Beach. jet-skiing and snorkeling can be enjoyed right from the beach out front. The hotel’s swimming pools provide a fresh water option for fun in the sun. Horse rides on the beach can be arranged from a concessionaire near the hotel. Jet boat rides are also an option from Shotover Jet. Their excursions go into Acapulco’s mango lagoons, in a combination of nature and adventure outings. Fishing, water skiing, scuba diving, boat rides, golf and tennis can also be arranged through the concierge.
The Quinta Real Acapulco Spa is operated by the Facial Design group of Mexico City. Some of the treatments can be provided in the privacy of the guest’s suite. The menu of services includes massages (Shiatsu, Reiki and others), mud baths, salt scrubs, steam baths, saunas and Jacuzzis. Skin care treatments also are available (facials and other body treatments.)
The Spa also provides complete hair care. A fitness center next to the spa has cardiovascular equipment and weights.
Four championship golf courses are nearby the Quinta Real. The concierge will be able to arrange tee times and transportation. Club rental is available at the courses.
Quinta Real Acapulco’s function space is set in comfortable surroundings, and under a palapa roof. Groups of between 30 and 240 can readily be accommodated, depending on the configuration. Meeting rooms can be arranged as two separate rooms with a capacity of 120 people each for receptions (or 75 for dinner and dancing), or one large room with twice the capacity. Catering and audiovisual support is available, and on-staff meeting planners can help with even the smallest details of a meeting or other gathering.
The pools are part of the Beach Club on the lower levels of the hillside into which the hotel has been constructed. Children can enjoy their own pool, while the adults have a large pool and sundeck for sunbathing or quiet reading. The pools are surrounded by gardens rich in flowers. Paths lead down to Revolcadero Beach.
Quinta Real Acapulco specializes in being a wedding venue, with its tropical gardens, quiet beaches, and majestic views of the Pacific. A wedding planner on staff will be glad to explain how the Quinta Real's event space can be used for wedding receptions and banquets, and how the hotel can act as host for the wedding, the celebrations, and the guests.
