Las Gaviotas
Las Gaviotas is an excellent place for lunch. They close when the last people have finished, at about 7:00 pm. The prices are very easy on your budget.
The restaurant looks like a gas station, open on two sides, with no air conditioning. The floor slopes noticeably, and the neon lighting is stark. The place is large and noisy. A large TV screen blares videos of Mexican ranchero music, like "Los Tigres del Norte." The restaurant is usually filled with families with unruly children. All of that notwithstanding, the food is great!. It is simple seafood, prepared to perfection. Fine ceviche, excellent caldo de camarrón, fresh clams (which can be expensive) and well-prepared fish. It is a place frequented by the locals.
