Banyan Tree Cabo Marqués is a luxury spa resort of a famous Thailand-based hotel group. It is the only hotel operated by Banyan Tree outside of Asia. Cabo Marqués is just 20 minutes from the airport and 12 kilometers from the center of Acapulco’s busy beaches and nightlife. The Banyan Tree offers its guests individual villas in a lush, garden atmosphere – perfect for romantic getaways with someone special. The architecture is distinctly Asian, with steep roofs, wide eaves and structures built on stilts, with platforms of natural materials.
Each of the 40 villas has its own private pool and sundeck, with windows from floor to ceiling. The views are of the bay and ocean or of the tropical mountain cliffs and of the gardens surrounding the property. The six spa pool villas add more space and a spa pavilion to accommodate an in-room massage upon demand. Villas are equipped with a place for work, a plasma TV with DVD/stereo, wireless Internet, mini-bar, in-room safe, bathrobes and toiletries.
From its unique location above the coast, guests will marvel at the enthralling sunsets into the Pacific. The sound of the surf can be heard everywhere.
Dining at Banyan Tree is a special experience. For dinner, the Saffron Restaurant specializes in modern Thai cuisine, and offers a private dining area surrounded by the wine cellar on three sides and a full view of the ocean on the other. The La Nao Restaurant is reminiscent of the silk and spice trade that linked Acapulco with the orient in the 16th and 17th centuries. It serves three meals daily, offering an international menu, an Asian menu and traditional Mexican dishes. For informal lunches and dinners, the Las Rocas Grill and Bar serves seafood and meat entrées in a casual setting by the main pool. The view is out to the bay of Puerto Marqués. Las Vistas is a more intimate bar, where guests can enjoy cocktails and tapas throughout the afternoon and evening.
The centerpiece of Banyan Tree is its tropical garden spa, which applies Eastern healing techniques to holistic massage therapy, with a concentration on harmonizing the body with the spirit. The human touch is accented through the use of spices and herbs to integrate the simultaneous stimulations of all the senses. Massage therapists are trained in Banyan Tree’s Spa Academy in Thailand.
