Acapulco Princess
The golf course at the Fairmont Acapulco Princess is one of the top 25 golf courses named by Golf Digest magazine. It is an 18-hole, par 72 course. From the championship tees it measures 6,355 yards; from the regular tees, 6,085 yards; and from the forward tees, 5,400 yards. Water hazards appear on 12 of the holes.
Ted Robinson designed the Fairmont Acapulco Princess Golf Course to be especially rewarding to golfers who can hit straight drives and fairway shots. The long, narrow fairways are outlined with palm trees, and the course is lavishly landscaped. The greens are meticulously watered, trimmed and cared for.
During 2010, the golf course will continue to operate, even as preparations are made for the inauguration of the nearby Turtle Dunes Country Club at Princess Diamante in Acapulco. (The 18-hole course at the Fairmont Pierre Marqués will be closed as construction progresses.)
Rates for hotel guests are US$145 per round for tee-times up to noon, $135 after noon, and $105 for twilight rounds. Visitors pay $20 more. Minors pay a reduced fee ($55).
Practice range balls are $8 per bucket. Rentals of shoes and clubs are available at the club house. Collared shirts are required. No bathing suits are permitted.
